In line with Department Circular, 0034/2011, the school will now open on Monday, 14th  and Tuesday 15th  April.

The school bus will run as normal.

School Judo Programme

Our School Judo Programme, led by James Mulroy (Head Coach, Black Eagle Judo) will begin this Friday and will run for six weeks. James is both International Judo Coach and an International Olympic Referee.

The course focuses on the fundamentals of movement and the importance of physical education and participation for all children.

Judo as a sport is the second most popular sport in the world after soccer and is part of the educational system in a large number of countries around the world. The whole ethos and values of the sport make it a wonderful tool for the development of physical fitness, self esteem, personal confidence and much more.

The Olympic sport of Judo is taught using basic Judo techniques as well as games as a fun way to encourage development of movement and athletic skills at this important stage of a child’s physical development. The Judo games are used as a fun way to develop running, jumping, tumbling, agility, balance and coordination skills.

We ask for a contribution of €5 per child to go towards the cost of the lessons. The BOM will subsidise the remaining cost from monies raised through fundraising activities.

Internet Safety

We would like to take this opportunity to advise you of the following. Although it is outside the school’s control, with your child’s best interest at heart, we ask that you be very vigilant in relation to the material your son/daughter may be viewing or downloading on their mobile phone or personal devices at home.

Please find an information sheet attached which you might find useful.
