Swimming Lessons

27th January,2015.

Dear Parents,

Now that Nenagh Pool has re-opened, we are delighted to resume swimming lessons after the Midterm break, for First to Sixth Class children.

In the past, the school has taken Junior and Senior Infant classes to swimming lessons at the pool. However the staff together with the Board of Management have carefully re-examined the logistics of taking large numbers of small children to the pool and a decision has now been made to offer lessons to First to Sixth classes only.

In addition we have reduced the number of children at the pool for the swim sessions, keeping the pupil/instructor ratio low, so as to ensure a quality lesson.

Lessons will begin after the Mid-term break on Friday, 27th February for Ms. Kirby’s class and Ms. Ryan’s class (First class only) and will run for five weeks up to and including the day of the Easter holidays.

Lessons for Mrs O’Meara’s classes  and Ms.Maguire’s classes  will run on Fridays for five weeks after the Easter Holidays, commencing on Friday, 17th April.

The cost of the lessons will be €30 per child. This fee will include pool hire, the hire of three fully qualified instructors organised by the pool and bus hire to and from the pool. This cost has been subsidised by funds raised by the BOM during the year.

Payments must be made in full before the lessons begin and can be forwarded to the office from today. Unfortunately missed lessons cannot be refunded as the school will already have paid in advance for your child’s lesson.

Ms. Kirby/Ms Ryans Classes – Payment before the Mid-term break please  , Friday, 13th February.

Mrs O’Meara/Ms.Maguires Classes – Payment before the Easter holidays please, Friday 27th March.

Kind Regards,

Mairéad Kirby
