After School Activities

Athletics

During the first term, the school staff lead after school training sessions to prepare the senior classes, 3rd to 6th, for the Primary Schools Crosscountry Championships held annually in Thurles. Our children have always performed admirably at this event to date and although we place the emphasis on taking part, having fun and building fitness, we have secured quite a few coveted first, second and third placings in this event. We also hold training sessions to prepare the children for the Indoor Athletics Primary Schools Meet, run annually by Nenagh Olympic AC. More information from the school office or your child’s class teacher.

Yoga

After school Yoga classes are held at the school on Fridays and are facilitated by local yoga teacher, Siobhán O’ Leary. Siobhán is highly qualified and particularly experienced in delivering yoga classes to school age children. Classes run from 2pm to 3pm for infant classes and older children, from 3pm to 4pm. A detailed information letter will be issued by Siobhán through the school in September.
Speech and Drama

Experienced Speech and Drama teacher, Geraldine McNulty has worked with the school for many years now, delivering after school Speech and Drama classes to all ages. The children at the school have always excelled in their yearly examinations. More information from Geraldine, will be distributed through the school in September.

French Classes

After school French classes began at the school during the school year 2014/15 and are delivered by French teacher and native of France, Fanny Healey. Fanny places emphasis on spoken French in her classes and her classes are thoroughly enjoyed by all. Again, Fanny will distribute further information through the school.
