Tin Whistle

Katie O’ Sullivan from Munroe, Co. Limerick has been teaching Tin Whistle to 1st – 6th Classes for eight years. Katie is a very accomplished musician and we are delighted to have her teaching tin whistle in Kilruane N.S.

She started playing music at the age of 4 years old. She began playing the tin whistle and then progressed to the concertina. She has won various competitions in the ‘Fleadh Ceol’ throughout her life. Some of which include winning the all Ireland ‘Ceol an Geimhridh’ two years consecutively. She also teaches music at the ‘Willy Clancy Summer School’ each year.

Katie has an excellent relationship with the children in our school. Throughout her eight years she has developed competent and confident musicians. She has fostered an interest in music in the children of our school. We are very fortunate to have Katie come to our school weekly to teach tin whistle.
