Active School’s Week

Children will have daily PE classes to include rounders, tag rugby, yoga, parachute games, a 5k walk on school grounds, obstacle courses, yard games and more! It promises to be a week to remember for the children!

Tracksuits

As next week is Active Schools week, children may wear their school tracksuit from Monday to Friday. Shorts/leggings may be worn to school everyday as an alternative to tracksuit bottoms. Please wear black shorts/leggings if possible. Kilruane Club shorts are ideal. Tracksuit top and grey polo shirt as usual please.

Sports Day 2014

Our annual Sports Day takes place on Thursday, June 19th , weather permitting.

Parents are invited to join us from 11.30am. Children will break for lunch 1.00 -1.30pm. Children bring a lunch as usual, an extra drink might be a good idea. As Sports Day is a very special day at Kilruane NS treats are allowed !

This year all children from Junior Infants to Sixth class will be on a team. Each team will have a colour – blue team, red team, white team, green team. Your child will be told their colour at school and we ask, if possible that your child wears some item of that colour on the day. e.g. a child on the blue team might wear a blue t-shirt or blue shorts or blue socks etc.

All home times remain the same. Infants 2pm, everyone else 3pm. The school bus will run as normal.

At home times, we ask that you please allow teachers to bring children back to their classrooms. Infants can be collected from their classroom as usual and all other classes at the school gate as normal.

We look forward to seeing you all on the day. If the weather goes against us on Thursday and we have to re-schedule Sports Day, we will send out a text that morning.
