First Holy Communion
First Holy Communion will take place tomorrow, Saturday at 11:30am in Kilruane Church. Our 2nd class children have worked really hard this week, together with their teacher Ms. Ryan and Peggy, to ensure everything goes really well tomorrow. We also extend a big thank you to the children in our school choir who have been singing and playing their instruments so beautifully all week, in support of their friends in second class. It is a very special time for children, our school, and especially for our families. Once again we thank our friends, Fr. Des and Noreen for their continued guidance and commitment to our school. We really hope the sun shines for you tomorrow and that you have a truly wonderful day.

Fifth Green Flag for Kilruane NS
We finally received the news we had been hoping for during the week when a letter arrived from An Taisce to announce that our application to secure our fifth green flag has been successful! What wonderful news! This is a another fine achievement for our small school. Congratulations to our green schools co-ordinator Mrs. O Meara, well done to the Green Team and indeed to all the children, teachers and staff at the school. We look forward to raising our green flag in the near future. We will issue more details shortly.

Confirmation Class 2017
Congratulations to Rang a Sé who received the sacrament of Confirmation just before the Easter break. The ceremony was celebrated by Bishop Fintan Monaghan and as it was his first visit to our parish it was a very special day for all involved. We were really proud of how our children participated throughout the mass on the day and we thank them for their enthusiasm during the practices in the previous weeks and particularly for the wonderful preparatory work they did in their Confirmation scrapbooks. Thank you to class teacher Ms. Talbot for her hard work and guidance throughout the year. We hope you all had an enjoyable and memorable day.

Cumann na mBunscol Camogie 2107
Well done to our u13 School Camogie Team who played so well in the Cumann na mBunscol championship blitz held in Toomevara before the Easter holidays. They are a very talented team and we were really proud of how well they played on the day and especially proud of their enthusiasm and team spirit. Despite their very best effort on the day, they narrowly missed out on a place in the North Final.
3rd and 4th Class
Thank you to the children in Ms. Maguire’s class, for entertaining us all on the day of the Easter holidays with their play, “The Pharaohs’ Story”. The children had been studying ancient Egypt in class and decided it would be a perfect way to share some of their knowledge with the rest of the school.
