Seachtain Na Gaeilge

Comhghairdeas agus dea rinneadh le gach duine a ghlac páirt í ngníomhaíochtaí éagsúla do Seachtain na Gaeilge an seachtain seo caite. Ghlac  rang a haon agus a dó páirt í gcomórtas ealaín. Ghlac rang a trí go dtí rang a sé páirt í Tráth na gCéist. Gan aon dabht, bhí an caighdéan an ard arís. Bhain gach dalta an taitneamh as na comórtais éagsúla . Míle buíochas chun ár eagraí Bean Uí Chinnéide.

 

Seachtain na Gaeilge

Congratulations and well done to all the pupils who took part in the different activities for Seachtaine na Gaeilge last week. First and second class took part in an art competition. Third to Sixth class took part in a table quiz. Undoubtedly, the standard was very high again this year. All the pupils really enjoyed the different events. Once again congratulations to all pupils who took part. We hope everyone will continue to use and enjoy the Irish language. Bain trial as! Many thanks to Mrs. Kennedy who co-ordinated Seachtain na Gaeilge for us once again this year.

Féile an Aonaigh 2018

Junior and Senior infant classes travelled to Nenagh last week, with their teacher Mrs. Kennedy to take part in Aithriseoireacht Grúpa as Gaeilge (Group Recitation in Irish) , at the Comórtais Scoile Bunscoile, at Féile an Aonaigh, Nenagh. It was the very first time these children have represented our school. We are so proud of our very youngest pupils, their confidence in speaking Irish, their vibrancy and enthusiasm has been remarked by all, both in the lead up to the event and during their performance on the day! Stars for the future! Comhghairdeas le gach duine!

 

Parents Association News

As you are aware, our Parents Association’s annual Easter Egg Raffle is taking place this week. Tickets cost one euro per strip and are available from your child’s class teacher.

In addition, the Parents Association will run their very successful ‘Bag2School’, clothes collection campaign over the coming weeks, details and bags will be issued by the PA this week. In addition, the PA has just finalised  Tennis Lessons for the last term, so a very busy schedule indeed. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the committee and members for their continued support of the school.

 

Afterschool activities: French Lessons

After school French classes with Fanny Healy will commence in the weeks after Easter. Classes are available from Infants (2-3pm) to 6th Class (3-4pm). Fanny will issue a flyer after Easter week with more information and contact details.

 

 

VEX Final

The very best of luck to our VEX team who will travel to Cork on Monday 9th April for the National Final of the VEX Robotics IQ Challenge 2018. We know you will do us proud!

 

School Closure

The school will close on Friday for the Easter holidays at usual home times. We re-open on Monday 9th April. Enjoy the break everybody!
