GAA Table Quiz

Well done to the GAA quiz team who represented our school at the Tipperary GAA Table Quiz North Final in Cloughjordan last Sunday evening. Unfortunately, despite putting in a lot of preparation for the event and a fine performance on the night, we didn’t make it through to the County Final. A big thank you to Ms. Butler for preparing the children so well and to our quiz team, Ava Gaynor, Cormac Gaynor, Fearghal Doheny and Cian Moyles.

Parents Association Christmas Art Exhibition

The Parents Association are hosting a Christmas social afternoon/evening at the school on Tuesday 11th December. The event will comprise of an Art Exhibition of the children’s work and an informal cuppa and chat for parents. The children are currently completing their art work with their class teachers. The art work will be framed and displayed by ‘Images School Art’ and will be displayed in the school hall. All artwork will be available to purchase at the event. The framed artwork will cost 10euro, additional copies can be purchased and will be delivered to the school in time for Christmas. They promise to be a lovely original Christmas gift for a family member.

A small percentage of the purchase cost (2euro) will go towards Parents Association’s school fund, money which goes directly back to the children.

The exhibition will be open from:

1:30 to 3:30pm, to facilitate parents who collect at 2pm and 3pm

6pm to 7:30pm, to facilitate everybody else.

We look forward to meeting you all then!

VEX

The 5th& 6th Class continue their Vex journey in preparation for the Regional Finals in Limerick in January. Each of the different teams- Build, Design, Programming, PR and Materials have been busy in gaining skills and an insight into working in their individual teams and collaboratively as a whole class team. Recently the PR Committee organised a very successful cake sale to raise funds for their Vex Robotics Project. The Cake sale was hugely successful and the PR committee would like to say a huge thank you to all the pupils who bought cakes and buns, and their parents for all the baking. Well done everybody!

Last Friday, the 5th& 6th Class visited Goliath Packaging Systems in Nenagh to see first-hand the operation of a robot being used in end of line Automation. Thanks very much to George O’Leary, Jennifer’s (5th class) Dad for the invitation. We’ll keep you up dated as we progress on our journey.
